About Mrs. Chiprich (K/1)
My name is Nancy Chiprich and I am so excited to again be part of the Sunol Glen K/1 team!
I started my teaching career at Sunol Glen in 1997 and have primarily taught first grade and K/1. I left full time teaching in 2008 to spend more time with my family and have been job sharing and substitute teaching at Sunol Glen for the past five years.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of California Pennsylvania. I continued my post-graduate work at Central Connecticut State University, Westfield State University, and the University of San Diego with an emphasis on Technology in the Classroom and Art for Elementary Grades. I have taught for 30 years: 13 years for Ringgold School District in Western Pennsylvania, 5 years for Hartland School District in Connecticut, and 12 years for Sunol Glen Unified School District. Of my 30 years of years of teaching, 20 years have been in kindergarten or first grade.
My goals are to create and provide a comfortable, safe (AND fun!) learning environment for all students that enter my classroom and instill a lifelong love of learning in my students while continuing my own journey as a lifelong learner. My teaching philosophy is based upon teaching the whole-child. Everyone learns at a different rate and in a different way. I appreciate each student for their own uniqueness.
I grew up in Western Pennsylvania where I met and married my high school sweetheart. Livermore, California has been our home for the past 20 years. When I am not teaching I enjoy traveling and spending time with our son, his wife and our two grandchildren and friends.
I love teaching kindergarten and first grade and am so lucky to be working again with Julia Harris as her job share partner this year!
